About Us
Opened in September 2021 by husband and wife, Matt and Jen Hennessy, to bring delicious comfort food and a carefully curated local craft beer list to Buzzards Bay. Formerly of Plymouth, they spent a few years in Rhode Island working in Newport and finally moving back to the South Coast area in 2020. On a casual afternoon car ride they saw a FOR RENT sign in the window of an adorable building on Main Street and the rest is patty smashing history!
Rod & Rail has a menu full of pub favorites and a cozy atmosphere where you will feel right at home among old and new friends. Specials and beers rotate often, make sure to check back to see what's new!

Bartender
Currently seeking fun, upbeat, and outgoing person to add to our small front of house team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience behind the bar with at least 1 year being craft cocktail and beer focused. Must be comfortable with closing restaurant without management supervision and have evening and weekend (including Sunday) availability. Expectations of position include (but are not limited to) being able to learn menu and make recommendations to customers, do bar prep including making syrups and batches for service, keeping bar clean with daily assigned cleaning, and set up and break bar down according to set specs.
Line Cook
Ideal candidate will have at least 1 year cooking on a fast casual restaurant style line or similar experience. We are willing to train a candidate that shows a desire to learn the industry. Expectations of this position include (but are not limited to) being able to learn recipes and menus, equipment use and sanitation techniques, work in a team setting and communicate clearly, and produce menu items as prescribed. Must have evening and weekend availability.
Kitchen Manager/ Chef
At this time, we are passively seeking to add to our management team in the back of house. Must have experience managing schedules and direct reports, making and costing menus, ordering and keeping accurate inventory. Must have weekend and evening availability.
